The most important question these days is, “how will the current COVID-19 pandemic end?” While the equally important question is when will it end, but how it will end can also answer when.

Well, in my opinion, there are three possible ways the current crisis can end:

  1. We find the vaccine, the entire world is inoculated and we move on
  2. We find a cure, people will be infected and get cured and move on
  3. We develop collective immunity to the virus, although the virus itself will not disappear
  4. The globe will get sick of the situation, just more on living with the virus, leaving behind the fear of pandemic

The end number one is the best end of the pandemic. The reason I say this is the best is, this would mean a complete victory over the SARS-COVID-19 similar to the victory we had with smallpox, polio, measles, and others. Well, we have been hearing any vaccine for SARS-COVID-19 is at least 18 months away or at least 15 months from now on. I don’t want to be pessimistic here, but we need to be aware, we don’t have a vaccine for HIV for the past 20+ years. The first outbreak of Ebola was in 2014, followed by a call and funds for the development of vaccines. As late as the end of 2019 and early 2020, the USA and the EU approved the vaccine. Of course, the scale of the current SARS-COVID-19 pandemic research and development of the vaccine is unprecedented. We should see early positive results. Despite the funds and support, there is only a certain amount of incubation time that can be reduced.
